The BSSEC Purchasing Guide has been developed by Local Economy Solutions Ltd and IJL Web Solutions.
The project was initiated and managed by Local Economy Solutions Ltd, with IJL Web Solutions responsible for technical web development.
The brief involved developing a web based
Purchasing Guide to Social Enterprise and Trading VCS organisations
within Birmingham and Solihull area.
The Guide is primarily geared to the
needs of commissioning organisations, but is also of
relevance and interest to the wider voluntary sector and individual
VCS organisations.
The original intention of BSSEC was that “… the
Purchasing Guide website should be accessible to every purchaser,
policy-maker, elected member and support/development agency
wishing to make use of it”.
The project involved the following key stages:
- The compilation of VCS databases and initial analysis
- The
classification of VCS organisations
- The refining the sample (data cleansing)
- Questionnaire design
and piloting
- Implementation of survey
- Data processing
- Website development
